Fruit Slots
Fruit slots carry the oldest imagery in the industry, from cherries and lemons to melons, across designs that range from 5 lines to full grids.
Fruit on the reels
Fruit is the oldest surviving imagery in slot design, inherited from mechanical machines that paid in gum flavours. Cherries, lemons, oranges, plums, grapes and watermelons still make up the standard set, usually joined by bells, stars and sevens from the same era.
The theme divides into two branches. Classic fruit games keep small grids, few lines and short paytables, and they trade features for simplicity. Modern fruit games borrow the imagery only, and run it on Cluster Pays, on counting grids and through Tumble & Cascading Reels, with full feature sets attached.
Fruit symbols usually occupy the low end of a paytable in mixed games, which is a value convention rather than a rule of the theme. Where a game builds entirely on fruit, the paytable spreads the values across the set, and the rules state them plainly either way.
Nothing about the subject moves the numbers. A classic looking fruit game and a modern grid carry whatever RTP their rules publish, and the look of the reels is not a signal in either direction.
