Jackpot Slots
A jackpot is a prize above the paytable, either a fixed stake multiple or a pooled figure that grows, under terms the rules must state.
How jackpots work
A jackpot is a prize that sits above the ordinary paytable, and the word covers two different designs. A fixed jackpot is a stated stake multiple, often arranged in tiers with names like mini and grand. A progressive jackpot is a pooled figure that grows as players stake and resets when it is won, and its current size is displayed rather than fixed.
The two designs read differently. Fixed tiers are ordinary paytable entries with large values, and their terms live entirely in the game rules. Pooled prizes bring outside terms with them, because the pool is funded by a stated share of stakes and can be shared across several games or several operators, under conditions the rules must spell out.
Award routes vary by design. Common routes are a full grid in a Hold & Win round, a dedicated segment in a Wheel Bonus, a stated symbol combination and a random award. The rules name the route, and where a jackpot needs a qualifying stake, that condition is part of the route as well.
Stake qualification deserves a careful read in pooled games. Some designs open every tier at any stake, whilst others reserve the top tier for stakes above a stated level. The rule is printed in the jackpot terms, and a player weighing a displayed pool should confirm the qualification before treating the figure as available.
A jackpot is a set of terms wearing a headline number. The tier values or the pool rules, the award route and the qualification are the three disclosures that define it, and the games worth cataloguing print all three.
