Wheel Bonus Slots

A wheel bonus awards the prize its pointer lands on, with segment labels visible but segment odds usually left out of the published rules.

How wheel bonuses work

A wheel bonus presents a wheel of labelled segments, spins it and awards whatever the pointer lands on. The labels carry stake multiples, feature entries, upgrades or jackpot names, and the visible labels are the honest part of the feature. Entry comes from a stated trigger, and some games run the wheel as a stage between the base game and a larger round.

The undisclosed part is the weighting. Segments of equal size do not carry equal probability in most designs, and the rules of most wheel games do not publish segment odds at all. The absence deserves a plain statement, because a wheel invites a player to read likelihood from geometry, and the geometry is not the rule.

What the rules do publish is the segment list, the trigger and any progression. Wheels commonly ladder upward, where one segment promotes the spin to a second wheel with larger values, and holding designs use wheels to settle their closing prize. Where a wheel can award a pooled prize, the terms described under Jackpots apply to that segment.

The feature also appears as a compact bonus in its own right, spun from a trigger such as 3 Scatter Symbols, and as a stage inside a larger Bonus Game. In every placement the readable facts are the same, namely the labels, the trigger and the ladder.

A wheel is a prize list drawn as a circle. The list is disclosed, the weighting usually is not, and a fair description of any wheel game keeps those two statements side by side.
