Bonus Buy Slots

A feature purchase lets a player pay a stated multiple of the stake for direct entry to a bonus round, at a price the rules must disclose.

How a feature purchase works

A feature purchase gives a player direct entry to a game’s bonus round in exchange for a fixed payment, stated as a multiple of the stake. Prices commonly sit between 50x and 200x, and the rules print the exact figure for each purchasable round. The purchase replaces the wait for a natural trigger and changes nothing about the round itself unless the rules say otherwise.

The catalogue lists this feature under the label most games print on the purchase button. In these pages it is called a feature purchase, and the two names describe the same thing.

Disclosure around the price deserves attention. Some studios publish a separate RTP for the purchased route, and the figure can sit above or below the base game figure. Where the rules print both numbers, a player can compare the two routes directly. Where they print only one, the comparison is not available, and that gap is worth recording.

Feature purchases are not offered to players in Great Britain. The Gambling Commission’s rules have excluded them since October 2019, and the position was unchanged as of September 2026. A game sold into that market ships without the purchase menu, whilst the same game elsewhere can carry it.

The feature should not be confused with an Ante Bet, which raises the stake to improve the trigger odds rather than buying the round outright. The purchase is immediate and priced; the ante changes probabilities and leaves the wait in place. The rules of games that carry both state the two options separately, usually with their own figures.
