Collect Symbol Slots

A collect symbol gathers the printed values on the grid when it lands, and the rules state its reel, its timing and how repeats stack.

How collect symbols work

A collect symbol pays the values that are already on view. Where Cash Symbols land with printed stake multiples, the collector landing in the same spin gathers those values and settles them as a win. Without a collector the printed values usually pay nothing, which makes the pairing a single feature described across two symbols.

Placement rules shape the odds. Many games restrict the collector to one reel, most often the last, so a collection needs values on view and the collector on its reel in the same spin. The paytable states the placement, and it states whether the collector also carries a value or a multiplier of its own.

The stacking rule is the arithmetic question. Where two collectors land together, games either pay the values twice or apply a stated multiplier to the collection, and a few upgrade the collector instead. The difference is large enough that the rules must answer it in writing, and well documented games do.

The behaviour moves into features as well. Inside Free Spins a collector can become persistent and gather on every spin, and holding rounds fold collection into their closing settlement. Each variant keeps the same core, which is printed values plus a defined gathering event.

The feature reads in four lines, namely the collector’s reel, its timing, its stacking rule and any value of its own. Those lines convert a picture of a magnet into a payout definition, and the conversion is the whole point of a paytable.
